Rarely do products come across our desks or get slipped into our hands that are truly unique. The Hammerhead Shift Tip is one such creation, and definitely one that fits into the category of, "Why didn't I think of that?"

What the Hammerhead Shift Tip does is allow riders with different sized feet to alter the length of their gear shifter without having to replace the entire part altogether. All you need to do is do is decide between one of the six available sizes (which range from a -10mm offset to a +15 in 5mm increments), then remove your stocker from the bike. Following the sample instructions, you drill out the old rivet, punch out the OEM tip, and screw in the new one.
But wat, there's more! Now you can customize the vertical height of the tip, achieved by stacking washers under or over the mounting screw depending on which way you want to go. If you like the height right where it is stock, just put a washer on either side to balance things out and you're in business.

With the shifter in place, we took our YZ250 to the local track to test the Hammerhead. Actually, testing it was pretty much a no-brainer, as it did just what it looked like it would--extended out our stock shifter. Giving this design marvel a nine was easy, especially for a guy with size 15 hooves like myself. Though the installation was a tad complicated (anything requiring power tools scares me), the end result was well worth the 10-minute sacrifice.

If you have Goliath feet like myself or delicate, tiny ballerina feet like Swap, give the Hammerhead Shift Tip a try; it'll make your ride a more comfortable one, is reasonable priced, and with the anodized colors even enhances your bike's looks.
